April Lasky is a production designer based in Brooklyn, NY.
She was introduced to the film industry at the age of eight through her father, who was an actor. From there she went onto work on movies and commercials as an actress but decided that the other side of the camera interested her more. The privilege of being able to be apart of an such an imaginative place at a young age made a strong impression on her -especially seeing the art department create and bring to life an imaginary world that she got to experience as a physical reality.
She received her BFA in Interior design and eventually combined that with her passion and knowledge of film to become a production designer -bringing to life a reality through storytelling. She loves the outdoors- hiking, camping, gardening, living history museums, homesteading, folk art and design, 19th century architecture, animals, motorcycles, wood working and furniture making.
